Within our first 6 weeks here in Krakow, one of our teammates, Kirstin, invited me to have coffee with some people she works with at an ESL school here in Krakow, called Graceland. I was miserably sick that night and really didn't want to go but felt like I should. I am so glad I did. One of the girls I met was named Justyna. I felt an instant connection with her. She was a speech pathologist and was great in helping me make different sounds with my mouth that sound to my English ear quite the same. It has helped my Polish pronunciation quite a bit. I saw her a couple times at Graceland when I started helping and then she disappeared. I found out that she was working and finishing school and her schedule didn't allow her to attend classes anymore. I was pretty bummed.
Then, one Sunday at church there she was...I was amazed to see her. We have kept in touch since then. She has kept the girls for me and also has helped Ella a little with her Polish. She is very sweet and I am convinced is a believer. One Sunday after church she and Kirstin and I started talking about taking a girls' trip and within a couple weeks we had it planned. So a couple weeks ago, the three of us boarded a bus and headed east to, as she refers to it, "her Poland."We would spend 4 days with her family and seeing a different part of Poland than we had before. We had a blast!!!! And ate way too much...it was such a blessing and sweet time together. Enjoy a few pics.
