Goo and Pappy's Visit

Ok...I know I know. I am so far behind on blogging. We have been so busy and at the end of the day the idea of sitting down to write coherently has just not been appealing to me. So I am playing catch up. :)

The last set of parents/grandparents came to visit for 2 weeks after Christmas. It was my mom and stepdad. We had a fabulous visit. We wandered around Krakow, took a trip to the Salt Mines just outside of town, went to the movies, visited Auschwitz and Schindler's factory and just hung out together. The first week the girls were out of school so we had more free time. The second week they were back to school and we had a couple days of language so they got to experience some of our normal routine.

Here are some fun pics from their time here.
GOO is HERE!!!!

Waiting at the airport in Warsaw
Goo and Ella listening intently

All salt carving of Copernicus.

Horses were used underground to help with mining salt.

This whole room was carved by only 3 men. Unbelievable!! Pictures do not do justice.

These crystals are all made from salt.

Ella tasting the wall. We allowed to eat up to 1 kilogram of salt. Haha!

Ella the miner.

Waiting for the elevator.

It was a LONG wait.
The bell in the tower of the Wawel Cathedral.

Lots of pics of children that were found in people's things from Auschwitz. Always makes me sad.
Sitting in the theater waiting to start.

Puss in Boots (Kot w Butach) was in English...BONUS!!

Playing monopoly with Goo
Fun times!

Having lunch at my favorite...Babcia Maliny (Grandma Raspberry's)

Macie eating the BEST tomato soup

What was left of James's goulash.

Shopping at what was left of the Christmas market.

Can you believe that Goo was the only person to give her money?

We have lots of street performers. We looked over and Macie was singing Away in a Manger with her hat on the ground. It cracked us up!
Eating at McDonald's

Playing on Goo and Pappy's bed

Love this!

Family Pic

We didn't have the greatest photographer. Not sure what was up with Ella.

Saying goodbye is never easy.

We had a great 2 weeks! It is hard to say goodbye without know when we will see each other again. Thankful for blogs, facebook and skype!!!
