Krakow Night Life

It was so nice last night so we all went into town. We ate a Polish "fast food" type restaurant. We ordered 2 plates of peirogi...should have just gotten one but I didn't realize how huge they would be...bowl of soup with boiled egg, chicken cutlet that was HUGE and 2 scoops of real mashed potatoes...all that for like $13US. Amazing! We also got a yummy dessert to share called Nalesniki. Mmmm!!! Enjoy the pics!

It's the little things...

We are missionaries now...we should be sacrificing comforts and normal life stuff, right? I have been ok with that. We got rid of the majority of our stuff and it has been quite freeing. Since being here...although only 2 months today...I have not been tempted to purchase new clothes for the girls or myself. I haven't been wanting to buy new stuff just to have. Going from 1800sq feet to 800 I thought would be quite a bit more difficult. However it hasn't been. European people are excellent at creating great storage space. Our cabinets are not full...we actually have empty spaces. We have plenty of space it live in. Macie even manages to play hide and seek in the apartment. It makes me laugh. We have had another family over for dinner with 2 kids as well.

We were just fine. Life has seemed fairly easy to adjust to. So when our washing machine began to run slowly, I felt like we were due some frustration. We heard that laundry takes longer over here and especially drying clothes. Our first inconvenience was that we can't run our washer and dryer at the same time or it blows a fuse. We could move the dryer somewhere else but didn't really have another option so we just do them one at a time. No big deal. However our washing machine began acting really weird. It has a play/pause button. It began to flash several times during a cycle. We would just push play again and start the next cycle...so we thought. The cycles were taking like 7-12 hours and the water wasn't draining. I would pull all the clothes out dripping water everywhere. Grrr...I couldn't figure out what the problem was. Oh and did I mention that the user manual was in Polish or Russian? Yeah so frustrating. But I have friends all over the world that don't have consistent electricity or maybe even a washing machine. So I could make due. That is, I could make due until I had laundry everywhere because I couldn't get caught up fast enough before we all took off more clothes thus adding more laundry to the piles. Ugh!!!

Yesterday my fabulous husband spent quite a bit of time checking online for options that could be wrong making the washing machine run like it was. He unstacked our dryer and pulled out the washing machine and found a huge mess of I don't know what clogging up the hose. And guess what? I am almost caught up on laundry!!! It's the little things that frustrate and the little things that cause joy! Haha! Just a funny story for ya!
