Rock Climbing

Ella's friend Blix invited us to go to an indoor rock climbing place with them and some other friends. (His mom is very social, have you seen a few posts about hanging out with them?) Anyway, we went last week. We took Ella's friend Misia so Ella wasn't the only girl and also a new friend, Natalie, who was here visiting. I am not sure the cost to go in America, but for unlimited climbing and gear all that for 3 people was about $10!!! Woohoo!

Now Ella is quite a chicken. I wasn't sure how she would do...or IF she would even try it, especially after seeing the height of the walls. It turns out her friend goes every weekend to classes for climbing. She was like a spider monkey. Ella, however, was quick to volunteer and boldly climbed up the wall...all the way to the very top. Two of the boys didn't even do that. I was amazed! She did it 3 times. The third time she was on a different section she hadn't attempted. She lost her footing and couldn't figure out where to go, but she worked it and got herself all the way up. I was so proud of her!! So all in all, a successful time.

Ella and Misia were ready to go...

OK...mom of the year didn't think about climbing shoes. DOH!!!

Blix shared his shoes...MUCH BETTER!

YEA!!! She made it to the top!

It was also the first anniversary of our friends arriving to Poland, and Ute said we all had to go eat at a restaurant she likes with them. So we all loaded up in the cars and went to Sopot for Polish food. Mmmm!! I realized at some point in the day that it was me (an American), a Polish lady, a German lady, and an Indian lady. Talk about culture confusion. It was so nice to be able to talk about things that we all struggle through with our kids...even though we all come from different backgrounds. All of our kids go to the American Elementary School so I will see them all fairly regularly as we drop off and pick up kids. Yea for new friends!!
